How do I rent a car in Barbados?

You can book online through our website or call our office at (246) 622-1886.

Is there a minimum rental period?

Yes, this varies by season:

  • Festive (Dec 15 – Jan 10): 4-day minimum
  • Winter (Jan 11 – Apr 14): 3-day minimum 
  • Summer (Apr 15 – Dec 14): 2-day minimum 

What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel up to the start of your rental period with no cancellation fee. Please note that prepaid bookings are non-refundable.

Do I need a credit card to book?

Yes. All reservations require a valid credit card.

Can I modify or cancel my booking?

Yes. Bookings may be modified or cancelled online or by telephone.

Will I receive a booking confirmation?

Yes. All confirmed bookings receive a confirmation email.

Driver Requirements

What is the minimum age to rent a car in Barbados?

Drivers must be 25 years or older.

What documents do I need to hire a car in Barbados?

  • A valid driver’s licence held for at least 2 years
  • A valid government-issued ID or passport
  • For drivers 75 years and older, a medical certificate confirming fitness to drive

Can I add additional drivers?

Yes. Additional drivers are welcome.

Is there a maximum age limit?

Yes. The maximum age is 80 years.

Do I need an international driving permit?

No. However, a Vehicle Hire Levy is applied by law to all rentals.

Is there a fee for additional drivers?

Yes. US$5 per day per additional driver.

Pricing & Payments

What is included in the rental price?

The advertised rate is the base price and excludes taxes, fees, and government levies.

Is a security deposit required?

Yes. A credit card pre-authorisation is required. Amounts vary by insurance option (see below).

Are taxes and government levies included?

All applicable taxes, fees, and levies are added to the base rate and clearly shown on your invoice. 

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

When will my card be charged?

Your card is charged at the start of the rental.

Insurance & Protection Options

Is insurance included?

Yes. Standard insurance is included. Optional upgrades are available to reduce your excess.

  • Excess: US$2,200 
  • Credit card pre-authorisation: US$1,000 
  • Excludes tyres, rims, windscreen, interior damage, and lost/damaged key fobs 

Value Protection – US$15/day 

  • Excess reduced to US$300 
  • Credit card pre-authorisation: US$300 
  • Same exclusions apply 

Zero Excess Protection – US$28/day 

  • Excess reduced to US$0 
  • Credit card pre-authorisation: US$150 
  • Same exclusions apply 

Do you offer roadside assistance?

Yes. 24-hour roadside assistance is available for US$2.50 per day, covering breakdowns, flat tyres, lockouts, jump starts, and emergency fuel. 
This must be purchased at delivery and cannot be cancelled or refunded once the rental begins. 

What is not covered by insurance?

All plans exclude damage to tyres, rims, windscreens, interior damage, and lost or damaged key fobs. 

What should I do in the event of an accident?

Contact us immediately:

  • During office hours: (246) 622-1886

    If unable to reach us, contact the Barbados Police Service at 211. 

Vehicle Collection & Return

Where do I collect and return the vehicle?

Vehicles may be collected from our office in Peronne Village, Worthing, or delivered to your hotel.

What are your operating hours?

Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

What happens if I return the car late?

Late returns are subject to additional charges.

Do you offer airport delivery?

Yes, airport delivery and collection are available. 

Can I return the vehicle after hours?

Yes. After-hours returns can be arranged at the start of your rental.

What is your fuel policy?

Vehicles are delivered with a full tank and should be returned full. 
Alternatively, you may prepay for a full tank and return the vehicle at any fuel level. 

During Your Rental

What should I do if the car breaks down?

Call us at (246) 622-1886 (office hours) or (246) 240-2932 (after hours).

Can I extend my rental period?

Yes. Please request extensions at least 24 hours before return. Extensions are subject to availability.

Can I change vehicles during my rental?

Yes, subject to availability. Rate differences or fees may apply.

Vehicle Use & Restrictions

Is off-road driving allowed?

No. Off-road driving is strictly prohibited.

Is smoking allowed in the vehicle?

No. All vehicles are 100% smoke-free. A US$300 cleaning fee applies for violations. 

Is mileage limited?

No. All rentals include unlimited mileage.

Are pets allowed?

No. Pets are not permitted in vehicles.

Extras & Add-Ons

Do you offer child seats?

Yes, subject to availability.

Are automatic vehicles available?

Yes. All vehicles are automatic.

Do you provide GPS or mobile Wi-Fi?

Yes, subject to availability.

Roads & Driving in Barbados

Are there toll roads?

No. Barbados has no toll roads.

Trust & Reassurance

What if my flight is delayed?

Your rental begins when the vehicle is delivered. The latest delivery time is 10:00 pm. 
If your flight delay prevents delivery by then, your vehicle will be delivered the following day.
